My Favourite Book - Romania

My favourite book is Harry Potter

He was first introduced in the novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, as an orphan who is mistreated by his guardian aunt and uncle and their son. On his 11th birthday Harry discovers that his parents were a witch and a wizard and that he, a wizard himself, has been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also learns that his parents had not perished in a car accident, as his aunt and uncle had told him, but that they instead had been murdered by an evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry was the only person to have ever survived an attack by Voldemort—by somehow rebounding the latter’s “killing curse”—which left him with a lightning-bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. Indeed, Harry’s mysterious survival had all but killed Voldemort, who was left disembodied, and the young boy was thus already a celebrated figure in the “wizarding” community. At Hogwarts Harry becomes fast friends with classmates Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and finds a rival in Draco Malfoy. He is taken under the wing of the school’s headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. These relationships persist throughout the series, especially as the young wizards and witches grow older and are called upon to take sides in a growing wizard war.

My favorite book is "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid".

After summer vacation begins, Greg's mother, Susan, announces to the whole family that they will be going on a trip. At a cheap motel, Greg and Rodrick decide to go to the pool, but find there is no water in it. There's a hot tub nearby, but it's occupied by a family that doesn’t let them use it, either. They return to their room to find the rest of the family asleep, taking up the entire bed. Rodrick makes a bed out of the couch cushions, leaving Greg to sleep in the closet. He only manages to fall asleep for a few minutes before being woken up by children playing with a cart used for cleaning. A family vacation that begins with adventures and ends in the same way.
– David

My favourite book is "The Adventures of Dunno and his friends"

The book follows the adventures of the little fictional childlike people living in "Flower Town". They are described to be sized like "medium cucumbers", a quality that has earned them the name "shorties" or "mites". All fruits and vegetables growing in Flower Town are, however, their regular size, so the Shorties invent sophisticated methods of growing and harvesting them. In Nosov's universe, each shorty occupies his/her own niche in the community and is named accordingly.

My favourite book is "The Genie"

This book is about two sisters named Fudge and Sarah and they want to make a gift for their dad.they go to a shop and they start looking around but one sister finds a blue box and the other sister finds a trouser press. When they arrive home Fudge goes to her room and finds a note that says "To call out the spirit of the box tap G-E-N-I-E in morse code and to send him back tap E-I-N-E-G in morse code" so Fudge does what the note says and a genie comes out of the box. She starts making him do some tasks like dusting the house. The genie did that but he put gold in the house.

My favourite book is "Little Prince"

This book is about a man who liked to fly his plane. Once, while flying, something fails and lands in a desert. There he met someone, more precisely the Little Prince. The two of them approached and even became friends. The little prince was very curious, and he asked the little man all the time. One day, the Little Prince decided to leave and visit the other planets. In the first one met with a king, the second with a smoky one, and so on. He finally got to Earth. There he was friends with a fox that was more wise. His journey is over. When he arrives in the desert, he tells this to the little man. After a while, the Little Prince began to feel weird. He realized he had bitten a snake. Then he went to the place where he had landed (for he did not live here) and a lightning passed by him. The little prince disappeared. The little man with the plane returned home; every time he watched the stars remembered his friend, The Little Prince. The story of the little prince is exciting, exciting and sensitive. I hope you read it too.

My favourite book is "Shadow Friend"

One evening, Nimo is late in the city for a long time. He just missed the last bus that could take him home, in the Bucharest neighborhood of Drumul Taberei. In the darkness, a terrible screeching splits the silence of University Square. A statue springs from all its joints and... here it comes to life and jumps to the boy's aid. Riding Breazu, Mihai the Brave's horse, Nimo sets off for home, while his grandfather - his statue, rather - is quietly stroking his mustache. So begins Nimo's adventure. One that will take him, along with his friend Imran, on a journey to North Macedonia, a place full of secrets, where he will discover the story of his mother.

My Favourite Film - Romania

My favourite film is Star Wars

It's about a war between two factions called The Clone Republic and the C.I.S. The Republic is good because they want to destroy the C.I.S. The Republic is full of clones and jedi but the C.I.S is full of robots. They fight on a lot of planets and they also fight in space but the Republic always wins.
– Lucian

My favourite film is “Squid Game” .

I watched it on Netflix. It is a South Korean fictional drama in which contestants who are deeply in debt play children’s games in order to win a ton of cash. The downside is that losers will be killed.
– Gabriel

Strangers things is a series with 4 seasons and with 30 episodes.

The characters are twenty monsters, who want to to destroy the world . There are also four Kids that save the world from the monsters. I really enjoyed it.
– David

My favourite film is Barbie

Barbie and her sisters, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea, and their adorable puppy friends find unexpected mystery and adventure when they return to their hometown of Willows. While crossing Grandma's Bridge, the sisters discover an old map, believed to lead to a long-lost treasure buried somewhere in the city. With their dolls alive, the four girls go on an exciting treasure hunt, along the way discovering that the greatest treasure of all is the love and laughter they share as sisters.
– Emilia

My favorite movie is Russia Fury

This film is about the war between Germans and Russians during WWII. A single Russian crew fights with Germans and attacks them. The film is thrilling and it keeps you next to the TV screen for two hours. Unfortunately the Russian crew died.
– Yannis

My favorite film is "Wednesday".

Wednesday's cold, emotionless personality and her defiant nature make it difficult for her to connect with her schoolmates and cause her to run afoul of the school's principal Larissa Weems. However, she discovers she has inherited her mother's psychic abilities which allow her to solve a local murder mystery.

Refreshing and zesty in every bite, Turkish salad is super easy to make, with a prep time of 15 minutes!

Just mix everything in a bowl, freeze for an hour, and serve.

Turkish Potato Salad

The Turkish version of potato salad has no mayo but is still so flavorful.

This recipe calls for the freshest ingredients, herbs, and spices. The result is a light and delicious salad that pairs well with barbecued or grilled meats.

The best part is, you’ll only need a few ingredients that are probably in your pantry right now. These include potatoes, eggs, black olives, parsley, and green onion.

Simit

Simit is a well-known breakfast food from Turkey. It’s also called Turkish bagel. It’s typically sold in the streets and is a popular choice among busy people passing by.

This twisted ring-shaped bagel gets dipped in molasses mixture and dredged in sesame seeds before baking.

There are different ways to eat this Turkish pastry. For instance, you can turn it into croutons and sprinkle on soup. Just chop them up and heat until crunchy.

Meanwhile, the traditional way to enjoy simit is to eat it as is with a salted yogurt drink on the side.

Local Recipes - Romania

 Drob de miel (lamb haggis)

It is customary in Romania to eat lamb on Easter, and one of the most popular dishes is drob de miel.

Ingredients:

- about 500 grams of lamb organs (heart, lungs, liver, kidneys)

- 2 boiled eggs

- 2 raw eggs

- 1 slice of bread dipped in milk

- 4-5 spring onions

- 1 bunch of parsley

- 1 bunch of lovage

- 1 bunch of fennel

- 1 spoon of sour cream

- salt and pepper

- lamb caul (the fatty membrane surrounding the internal organs) or a pasta sheet (the one for noodles)

- oil to grease the pan

Boil the organs in water with a pinch of salt. Drain and cool, and when chilled, mince them in the mincer, together with the slice of bread dipped in milk. Add the raw eggs, the sour cream, salt and pepper, the minced greenery and the minced onion (the green part as well). Mix everything thoroughly, with the aid of a (wooden) spoon.

Meanwhile, get a pan (Romanians usually use a four-square pan) and grease it with oil (or butter). Wash the lamb caul and lay it inside the pan, making sure it covers its margins too, so the blended contents will be entirely covered. If using a sheet of pasta, it must be well oiled. Anyone who isn't big fan of a strong lamb odor should use the pasta sheet.

Add half of the contents earlier prepared, then in the middle put the two boiled eggs, either cut in two or in four. Put the remainder of the mix, level it with the help of the back of a spoon and turn the margins of the lamb caul over the mix.

Bake it in the oven for about 30 minutes. Serve it sliced, with green onion and radishes.

Turkish Festivals

Official holidays in Turkey are divided into two groups as national holidays and general holidays. The only national holiday in the country is Republic Day. Holidays include official and religious holidays. official holidays; National Sovereignty and Children's Day, Commemoration of AtatΓΌrk, Youth and Sports Day and Victory Day. Religious holidays are celebrated as Eid and Ramadan Feasts.

Sacrifice Feast

According to the Hijri calendar by Muslims, it is a religious holiday celebrated for four days from the 10th day of Zilhicce. The tenth, eleventh and twelfth days of Zilhicce Month is called 'EyyΓ’m-Δ± Nahr' (Cut Days) and the ninth day of Zilhicce, which was the previous day.Since the Hijri calendar is a month calendar, the years are shorter than the sun-based Gregorian calendar. For this reason, the Eid al-Adha is celebrated 11-12 days earlier each year. Every 33 years corresponds to the same dates.

Ramadan Feast

Eid al-Fitr: Eid is known by this name because it is celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan. The word Ramadan comes from the Arabic word ramaḍ ("dry hot"). The reason for this is probably that it corresponded to the summer months when Ramadan fasting was first practiced.

Candy Feast: It has been translated into Turkish from the name "Iyd-Δ± FΔ±tΔ±r", which was the name of the feast in the Ottoman period. Iyd means feast. Fitr, which means "breaking the fast", is a charity known as "fitr alms" or "fitre", which is obligatory for rich Muslims to give to the poor, provided that it is not left until after Eid. Also known as "Thanksgiving". According to one claim, this word "thank you" turned into "sugar" over time. According to another claim, the name Sugar Feast is based on the tradition of starting Ramadan Feast by eating dates and sweets.
